Football Canada Makes Changes To Rulebook

The Football Canada Tackle Rules Committee has adapted a number of changes, clarifications and corrections approved to the Canadian Amateur Tackle Football Rule Book. The changes are for immediate distribution and implementation.

The changes include:

  • Extending the Tandem Buck Rule (pushing, pulling or charging into the ball carrier to assist his/her forward progress) to include the ball carrier on any play (e.g. turnover, punt return)
  • Amending the Horse Collar Rule (pulling the ball carrier down by grasping the inside of the shoulder pads/collar) to include the outside of the jersey above the numbers
  • New numbering system for eligible & ineligible receivers which was announced last year is now to be fully implemented

BC Provincial Finals Set

All The VMFL Champs Crowned And Ready For Provincials

This coming Saturday is the BC Provincial Championship games for the Peewee, Junior Bantam, Bantam and Midget divisions.  All the games will be played at McLeod Stadium in Langley starting off with the Peewee’s at 9:30 in the morning and finishing with the ever popular Midget final at 6:00pm

For families and supporters attending the game, admission charges (CASH ONLY) are as follows:

  • Adults: $10
  • Seniors & Students: $5
  • Kids Under 12: FREE

Please be aware there will be no pets permitted into the facility. Your gate security will have to make sure this is enforced as spectators found with pets inside the facility will be removed immediately (zero tolerance)

Game DVD

dvd-video-iconVBN will be producing championship game DVDs that can be purchased for $20 each (CASH ONLY) on game day at the stadium.  Teams can order these in advance at a cost of $15 each (CASH or CHEQUE).  If you are interested in ordering copies in advance, please email (president@vmfl.ca) and let me know how many you’d like to order by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28 and bring cash or a cheque on game day to the DVD sales table. DVDs will be ready for pickup at the DVD table 30 minutes after the end of each game.
